At the beginning of 2023, we were treated to the first season of The Last of Us, the TV series based on the famous game of the same name. The first season was a real success and it was no surprise that a second season was soon announced. However, that second season was delayed by the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood.
Given these strikes, it’s a bit of a wait and see what exactly the plan is for The Last of Us season 2. Variety let it be known that we will have to be patient: the second season would not go into production until next year, but HBO has not put the series on the schedule for 2024. This means that we will most likely have to wait until 2025 before we get to see the final product.
One central message: wait and see.
